1. Who we are
Symbiosis is made by Resonant Intelligence LLC (“Symbiosis”, “we”). Symbiosis is a personal AI for iPhone, Mac, and the web that helps you keep up with the people who matter to you.
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to run Symbiosis for you:
- Account details. Your name and email address when you sign up, and, if you buy a paid plan, your plan and subscription status. Sign-in and billing are handled by our provider Clerk, and payments are processed by its payment processor — we never see your full payment card details.
- Messages and contacts you connect. If you install the Symbiosis app on your Mac and enable a message source, it reads conversations available from the sources and devices you enable — such as iMessage and WhatsApp conversations stored on that Mac — along with your contacts and, if you enable it, your call history. It syncs that information securely to your Symbiosis account so your assistant can help you with it.
- Your chats with Symbiosis. The messages you exchange with your assistant.
- Waitlist and support submissions. If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and security-verification data. If you contact us through the website, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit.
- Usage and diagnostics. Usage analytics (through PostHog) tied to your account and crash reports (through Sentry) that help us find and fix problems.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to run Symbiosis: to sync the conversations and contacts you connect, to generate helpful responses and suggestions, to keep the service reliable and secure, and to respond when you contact us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show you ads.
4. AI processing
When you ask Symbiosis for help, relevant context — such as the conversation you are asking about — is processed in the cloud by the AI model providers we work with in order to generate a response for you. That processing happens on our behalf, to provide the features you use.
5. Services we rely on
We rely on the following service providers to run Symbiosis:
- OpenRouter for access to AI model providers;
- PostHog for usage analytics;
- Sentry for crash reporting;
- Clerk for sign-in and billing;
- Stripe for payment processing;
- Loops for lifecycle and transactional email;
- LoopMessage for supported external messaging features;
- Cloudflare for hosting, security, and cloud infrastructure; and
- Neon for database infrastructure.
Each provider processes only what it needs to do its job for us.
6. Your choices and controls
- You choose which supported sources and devices to enable. Symbiosis only begins syncing after you enable a source, and you can disconnect it to stop new syncing.
- You can delete your account at any time from the Symbiosis app’s settings on iPhone or Mac, or by emailing support@insymbiosis.ai. Account deletion clears your identity and user-owned Symbiosis stores. We retain limited external-provider history, historical telemetry, and the deletion audit record for audit, security, and operational integrity.
7. Retention
We keep your information while your account is active so Symbiosis can keep helping you. When you delete your account, we clear the user-owned stores that operate your account. We retain the limited records described in section 6; active account routes and ownership are disabled.
8. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit, and access to it inside Symbiosis is limited to what is needed to operate the service. No service can promise perfect security, but protecting your conversations is the core of what we build.
9. Children
Symbiosis is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here and update the date at the top. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle your data, we will let you know in the app or by email.
