iMessage integration

Understand how iMessage fits into Symbiosis and what to check during setup.

Overview

Symbiosis uses iMessage context to help you remember conversations, notice important follow-ups, and review drafts in your own voice. Because iMessage is an Apple messaging service, setup and reliability can depend on the Apple device that has access to those conversations.

iMessage

Local device boundary

Keep the Apple device you use with Symbiosis signed in, connected, and allowed to access Messages while the integration is active.

Before connecting

  • Confirm iMessage works normally on the Apple device you plan to use.
  • Keep the Symbiosis app and any required local helper running during setup.
  • Review any permission prompts before approving them.
  • Expect availability to vary while Symbiosis is invitation-based.

Common fixes

If iMessage context is missing or stale, confirm the device is online, Messages is signed in, and the local Symbiosis process has not been stopped. If you recently changed Apple ID settings, restarted the device, or revoked permissions, the integration may need to reconnect.

Privacy expectation

Use the iMessage integration only if you want Symbiosis to use that conversation context for relationship-aware assistance. For a plain-language privacy overview, read Privacy and data.
